Articulating Visual Display System Removal & Replacement
The U.S. Air Force procured a replacement visual display system to be installed on the C5 simulator platform with the requirement to eliminate the need for an articulation display system, reduce required maintenance support and ensure the training device delivered the highest levels of availability.
Q4 supplied a revolutionary solution with a cross cockpit 225 x 50 degree field-of-view display system. Additional deliverables included a visual platform support structure and projector mounting/housing assembly. The program called for the removal of the installed articulating display system, along with modifications to the motion platform to enabled the integration of the new high performance SupraVue 11′ visual display system. The project was completed within the contracted timeline and was successfully certified by the U.S. Air Force simulator regulatory team with zero defects.
